Four foil-sealed test strips read how salty your tears are, and a scored symptom check turns two years of "my eyes feel off" into a number. A 10 ml preservative-free drop is included so you can start the same day.
- Four readings, so you can test now and test again after a few weeks of a real routine
- A scored symptom check covering grittiness, burning, screen hours, night driving and light sensitivity
- Drops are carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5% with glycerin 0.9%, preservative-free, with no BAK in the bottle
- One-way filtered valve tip keeps the fill sterile for 90 days in use, no preservative needed
Tear osmolarity
The saltiness of your tear film. When tears evaporate faster than they're replaced, what's left behind gets more concentrated — so a number here gives you an objective read on how stressed your tear film is, instead of guessing from how your eyes feel that day.
Validated symptom questionnaire
A scored, standardised set of questions about grittiness, burning, screen time, night driving and light sensitivity. It turns 'my eyes have felt off for two years' into a number you can track and compare week to week.
Carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5%
A water-holding polymer that clings to the eye's surface and slows how fast the film thins out between blinks, so the surface stays wetter for longer after each drop.
Glycerin 0.9%
A small humectant that holds water in the tear film and softens the osmotic stress on surface cells when tears become over-concentrated.
Details
A retail kit with four foil-sealed tear osmolarity test strips, a colour read card, and one 10 ml preservative-free drop bottle. The strips give you a number for how concentrated your tears are. The read card is how you match the colour to that number.
The pouch is opaque periwinkle film with a lime band across the top seal. It's opaque for a reason: the colour read window on the strips fades under UV light, so there are no clear panels anywhere on the pack. The film is matte and soft in the hand, with a flexible feel rather than a rigid box.
Inside, the strips and the bottle sit in a fixed insert so nothing rattles and no fill can leak onto the read card. The bottle carries a tamper-evident closure and a printed lot and expiry field.
What's in the kit
- 4 tear osmolarity test strips, each sealed in its own foil sachet with desiccant
- 1 colour read card for matching the strip result to a number
- 1 x 10 ml preservative-free drop bottle: carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5%, glycerin 0.9%
- One-way filtered valve-tip dropper with tamper-evident closure and printed lot and expiry
- Free of BAK and other preservatives
How to use it
Test first thing, before drops and before eye makeup. Recent drop use, makeup and reflex tearing can all skew the read, so a plain morning is the cleanest moment. Open one foil sachet, touch the strip lightly to the tear film at the outer edge of the lower lid for a normal blink's worth of tears, then match the colour to the read card. Nothing touches the eyeball.
Then score the symptom check in the same sitting. The number only means something next to how your eyes actually feel. Write both down.
Use the drops as often as your eyes need them, up to about six times a day. That dosing was studied for eight weeks in a preservative-free 0.5% carboxymethylcellulose trial. Retest after a few weeks so you can compare, and keep two strips back for that.
This is a read, not an exam. If a reading doesn't take, use a fresh strip on a different morning. If you have vision changes, eye pain, or light sensitivity, see an eye-care professional promptly. Once opened, use the bottle within 90 days.

The evidence
The studies below tested the measures and the ingredients, not this kit. Nobody has run a trial on this product. We'll say so plainly until that changes.
